Three Tarus Are Better Than One

After finally being able to change my credit card info, I quickly reactivated my account and got on Ketski right away. It felt so strange playing a taru again- I mean I could finally see the majority of my screen!; as a Galka I normally would only be able to see 50% of my screen (with the other 50% covered by Thingone’s back). After transferring items and reorganizing my inventory and storage… (which took well over 2-3 hours since everything was in a mess) I went to Sand’oria to unlock PLD.

[insert anecdote of how annoying and shitty the PLD quest was which included one death, one delevel, and a whole bunch of running, sneak and invisible]

Then I went to Windurst and did the Ranger quest.

[insert anecdote of how Ketski died by a yagudo right when he was about to get the quest item, and how he deleveled after relevelling his WHM back to 30]

Once Praxus got on, Ray, Praxus and I levelled together as level one characters. I was the taru PLD in leather [picture above], Ray was the taru NIN in a yukata, and Praxus was the taru RDM in hobo clothes. [Side Note: Praxus re-made his Hume to a Taru]

And since everyone loves youtube… I forgot to turn gamma off so everything was so bright in the video that youtube made it all crappy.

PlayOnline Sucks

So – after being excited for a good two weeks about being able to play FFXI again – I come across this as I try to change my credit card info… I checked and re-checked and made sure I did not enter any incorrect information.

And then… after retrying for a few times… this.

Then after retrying a couple more times over an hour or two… this.

I decided to go to Square Enix’s web support chat thing. After waiting for 8 minutes it said “The next agent will be with your shortly…” (not the exact words) but of course… the agent didn’t come until 20-30 minutes after that. Then I was told that the server was busy, which is the same exact thing the error told me. He told me to try again every 30 minutes – which I have already been doing for the past 2-3 hours. Apparently so many users are trying to reactivate their accounts or change their billing information that the server is extremely congested. Really now? (Continuing on with SE’s Customer Service, my friend had to wait 20-30 minutes on the phone for an agent to address his own billing problem which he already mentioned through e-mail 2 weeks ago with no reply back)

I looked up this problem on google and it seems that A LOT of people have had this problem and many have been trying for days to get in. A lot of new players lost interest in the game and got upset that they paid 20 bucks for a game they can’t even register in. Others who have tried contacting Square Enix have gotten the same reply that the servers are busy, while others were told to contact their credit card company. However, those who did contact their credit card companies reported no problems with their company and concluded that the fault lies with Square Enix. I actually used this same credit card to reactivate my friend’s account – so there should have been no problem using it. And other people were able to “randomly” get in after a couple of tries. Either way, I’m angry I can’t play right now ):

In conclusion, Play Online sucks and SE’s customer service sucks and  if I can’t play my account soon I will rage into oblivion. OBLIVION.

Who the heck likes logging into PlayOnline to just get into FFXI anyway?

Day Before Reactivation

Today is quite a special day, for it is the day before my main character’s reactivation! Hip-hip-hurrah! My friend Ghidorah (who’s main is Raybrant) and I decided to travel to Jeuno to celebrate. With the help of field manual re-raises and raising earrings we were able to get there in one piece. (or reattached pieces since we died once on our way there.)

I recently did the Celestial Nights 2009 Event in Windurst and got the otoko yukata which you can use to form a stack of muteppo (fireworks) and the otokogimi yukata which you can use to form a stack of datechochin, turning you into a lantern ghost. (Hmm.) So I split what I had with Ray/Ghidorah and we started spamming fireworks in Jeuno. Fun. Oh, here’s the guide to doing the event by ffxiclopedia.org: [link].

Sooooooooooo. Can’t wait til’ we get to play our mains. Ray and I made around 220k farming for a few days now. I’ve never held more than 30k before. I feel very unsafe. If you guys know any good social linkshells that three tarutarus could join, please tell us. We’ve been oh so lonely~

Farming with Thingone

Finally! It’s the end of the month. Pretty excited that we’re nearing character reactivation time – though it seems that we’ll have to wait another two days. (News)

Oh well. I’ve been able to rack up some gil with Thingone meanwhile. The arduous task of farming beehive chips, honey, spools of silk thread and yagudo necklaces was definitely worth it. I can finally afford new armor!

It still feels a bit weird to be walking around as a Galka, bashing things with my first though. In battles all I can see is Thingone’s back. ):

In other news, much contemplation has gone in deciding which job our old pal Ketski will pursue. It seems like Ketski will be trying out the valiant Paladin class. I’m just worried as to how effective it will be in parties. The backup plan, as always, is WHM. The two friends he will be joining with will be RDM, and NIN. (Both which are tarus. Now only if we can find more tarutarus to join our brigade…) It looks like Ketski will be starting out with a packed wallet and a few companions this time around in Vana’diel.

Phoenix Down!

Well, well. It appears that it has been quite some time since I last played. However, the adventures of Ketski shall now resume. Just looking at the pictures on my previous blog posts brought back a lot of memories so I’ve decided to continue updating.

I’m not sure I want to continue with blocks of text every day – so…, I will probably be doing updates once a week or so with more pictures and less text. This stuff will mainly be for myself anyway.

Because of Square Enix’s ridiculous monthly billing plan I now have to wait until July starts to reactivate Ketski. I’ve been playing on a trial account meanwhile – trying to rack up some gil to buy new armor. Hurray!
